Alternative "green" Therapy for Stroke Patients

Sweet Pea plants at Grantham
We love this sweet, heart-warming feature! ~ Grantham Hospital in England has created a garden therapy program by refurbishing a greenhouse and garden to aid stroke patients in the process of rehabilitation therapy.
Working in a natural environment and planting seeds outdoors elevates patient moods and offers many health benefits. Research has also shown gardening to stimulate positive memories thus making it a potential activity for Grantham to introduce dementia patients into the program as it becomes more established. All tools and supplies for the garden were generously donated by various local organizations.
