Leveraging an impressive 8 year sustainability index created within their company, Nike has developed a free application to aid the decision making process for fashion designers to choose eco-friendly materials.
Making is a convenient reference tool that enables designers to compare and contrast the percentages of environmental impact between 22 different fabrics. Each material is rated among four categories - waste, water use, chemistry, and energy - making it easier to decipher "which materials yield the greenest products" (Hanna Jones, Nike VP of Sustainable Business and Innovation).
